Aledo was incorporated in 1963 and remained a rural community for many decades. Beginning in the 1990’s that changed as the community began to rapidly grow. Much of the growth of Aledo has been school centric. The Aledo ISD has long been recognized as one of the premier school districts in the area both in terms of academics as well as athletics. In recent years growth in the community has exploded with many major master planned communities underway and many more to come. Most notable, development of the long-awaited Walsh Ranch community enhanced awareness and growth in the area exponentially. The school district continues to be a major driving force to the attention and interest in Aledo, but with vast large-scale development taking place many are now also finding it the perfect place to live based on proximity to Downtown Fort Worth, scenic views and the variety of high-end homes and communities to choose from.
Hudson Oaks and Willow Park offer significant dining and entertainment options as well as being home to many new car, recreational vehicles, equipment dealerships and more. While Hudson Oaks and Willow Park are the commercial heart of East Parker County, they each have a somewhat limited number of residential communities. Lots of exciting commercial, multifamily and residential development is taking place all along the Interstate 20 corridor in East Parker
County!
Annetta, Annetta North and Annetta South are small residential communities located a few miles south of Interstate 20 and to the west of Aledo. They each have their own governance and service the residential communities that make up their towns. They are focused on their residents and maintaining the feel of the communities that attracted their residents to the area. Many beautiful acreage communities are found throughout the Annettas.
